To: wish-fireworks@macromedia.com From: Bob Stein Subject: VisiBone's web-safe color wheel thwarted by Fireworks 3! (plus free poster offer) Dear Macromedia Folks, I have a color resource site for webmasters. I made the civilized universe's only web-safe color wheel swatch arrangements and thoughtful users have converted them into the format fireworks likes. I put a few variations up for download: www.visibone.com/swatches A particularly alert user, Jason Jonas, has pointed out a fundamental obstacle to getting this collection of colors to work well in fireworks 3 and a picture really is worth a thousand words here so I would like you to see his screen captures, if you would be so kind: http://www.mt.net/~gxi/swatch/ Jason's message to me: "Your swatches works perfect in Fireworks 2 but unfortunately doesn't work in FW3. They will fit in the main swatch selector but are cut off in the other color pickers such as fill, stroke, text color, etc. The dimensions of the other color pickers are 21 wide by 12 high. As far as I can tell this is a fixed dimension." I was hoping whoever made the decision on a fixed 21x12 swatch arrangement for the fill color popup might like to see a counterpoint to that restriction. -- Bob Stein P.S. If a developer so much as looks at this with comprehension, I'll be happy to send him/her a free copy of my web-safe color reference poster: www.visibone.com/color
